Brad and Angelina are said to be taking time out in-between shooting films with their children in the Lake District. We’re not sure what their plans are but we’re pretty sure Hollywood’s super couple would love these suggestions…
Book a table at L’Enclume
The Lakes are home to three Michelin-starred restaurants and it’s really hard for us to pick a favourite but we can’t resist the element of surprise you get at L’Enclume. The chefs have a zany and modern approach to locally-sourced gourmet food, making the very most of the finest ingredients that grows and thrives in the county. There’s no set menu, instead the cooks use whatever is available on the day to create delectable dishes that differ from table to table. Be prepared for a show-stopping eight-course feast. Previous dishes have included crab mousse and crabmeat on a corn cracker, accompanied by a cucumber cocktail in a Martini glass and wafer-thin sugar casing shaped into crab apples filled with apple custard on a bed of granita. Tasting is believing.
Get lost in The World of Beatrix Potter
Keeping six children entertained must be no easy feat for Brangelina but a hop, skip and jump into The World of Beatrix Potter will more than capture vivid imaginations for the day. Beatrix Potter once lived in the Lake District at Hill Top Farm, taking inspiration from the magical surroundings to create characters that are still loved by adults and children alike all around the world. The World of Beatrix Potter brings all 23 tales to life so the children can meet Peter Rabbit in the garden, waddle along with Jemima Puddle-Duck in the woodland glade and see what Mrs Tiggy-Winkle is up to in her kitchen.
Stay at Beech Manor
This luxury lakeside retreat with helipad and boathouse would suit Brangelina down to a tee. Cuddled by five acres of woodland for the children to explore, it sits on the edge of Windermere and has private patch of land leading out onto the lake where you can sit with a glass of sparking and gaze out to the moss-green peaks in the distance and the glistening water lapping again the shore. The views can be enjoying from the first-floor balcony too, or inside this mansion’s massive rooms decked out with oak beams and fireplaces. Inside you’ll find six bedrooms, six bathrooms a snooker room with a bar, kitchen with aga and even a bathroom with steam enclosure and jacuzzi bath. All that’s missing are a few celebrity guests for a lavish dinner party.
Chomp on celebrity gingerbread
No trip to the Lakes is complete without a stop off at the Grasmere Gingerbread Shop to stock up one of the Lake District most famous exports. Fellow A-list actors such Renee Zellweger (who visited while filming Miss Potter) and Tom Cruise are both avid fans of the secret recipe first created by Cumbria local Sarah Nelson in the 1850s, so we think Brangelina will be partial to this crumbly gingery slabs of goodness too.
How would you like to spend a luxury weekend in England?
